What I Saw Today
I was having coffee with my friend Amos Poe last week and we were talking about how cool the Strand is. He had worked there many years ago - so did Patti Smith. Enough said.
I was there the other day and I realized: everything that happens in menswear starts with the guys who work there. The pallor (from being indoors all day), the lack of body fat (who can eat with all those books to read), and the artfully non-arranged look - the frayed shirt, washed out skinny jeans, the faded T-shirt. All Strand. Case in point - renderings of guys who ACTUALLY WORK THERE.
