“CFDA has announced its Fashion Awards nominees which include Alexander Wang for womenswear designer of the year.” (Style.com)

“The women’s watch market is developing into a three-way tussle. Established luxury fashion brands such as Chanel and Hermès are increasingly vying for a place on women’s wrists with older watch and jewelry brands such as Cartier and Boucheron, as well as traditional watchmakers like Jaeger-LeCoultre and Rolex.” (WSJ)

“With jobs scarcer in such classic fields as finance and consulting, Europe’s MBAs and B-schools are looking into more creative professions.” (Business Week)

Although Amancio Ortega and Stephen Marks started out as clothing manufacturers in the 1970s, today Ortega’s Inditex has posted a €1.31 billion profit while Marks’ French Connection posted a €27.4 million loss for the same period. (WSJ)
