Pucker Up, Rainbow Bright

By JC Report

This year, the forecast for spring doesn’t include vampy, wine-colored lips or
heavily-lined eyes. With the onslaught of luscious florals and artistic prints this season, a fully made-up face can cramp your style. The quickest (and most inexpensive) way to look fresh-faced and au courant is by wearing the fruity lip colors seen on the runways.

Louis Vuitton paved the way for this trend, presenting a look that was
at once striking and modern. The Vuitton make-up team painted models’ lips
with enough shades to fill a box of popsicles: juicy cherry, crisp
orange, strawberry red, and even a frosty blueberry color. Meanwhile, at Louise
Goldin
, intense tomato-red lips, slicked with a layer of clear gloss,
punctuated her futuristic, Technicolor knit dresses.

The full range of color may be fair game this season, but the trick is in keeping the rest of the face as a clean canvas, with naturally full but groomed brows. To make the color pop even more, try lining the bottom rims of your eyes with a white pencil. Or, if you’re particularly color-shy, take inspiration from Roskanda Ilinic‘s show and embrace the trend with an air of nonchalance, pairing muted tangerine lips with a gently powdered complexion and mussed tresses.
