The future of the industry and creating great content was the theme at Moxsie.com‘ s “Evolving Influencers” panel and party last week, which drew over 250 style setters and influential fashion bloggers, including Susie Bubble, Wardrobe Remix, Because I’m Addicted, Elle.com, Gala Darling and more. Moxsie had teamed up with the Independent Fashion Bloggers (IFB) to host the event.
The online retailer, which is dedicated to carrying independent designer lines, is regularly active in the independent fashion community. IFB is home to more than 4,000 fashion bloggers nationwide. Sending home the message that bloggers are taking a more prominent role in the fashion, the event featured a two-part panel on the future of the industry and creating content, followed by a dress-up party where guests competed for prizes from Moxsie.com, Cosabella, AMEX, and hard copies of the popular book “Note to Self,” by Andrea Buchanan.
Moxsie exec Julia Kung was on hand along with several of the site’s New York-based independent designers. We hear Necklush, Pretty Little Thing and 80%20 created quite a stir. Fans of the bloggers took to Twitter to dish on the who’s who of the night and of course, what everybody was wearing. The discussions centered on the future of the industry as technology and new media play a role, followed by commentary and advice on creating great content from the top fashion bloggers on hand. The conversation then opened up to Q&A sessions where aspiring designers and bloggers tapped panelists with questions. Proof that NYFW is not just about fashion and style but also substance!
