another—they’re about looking good while you’re doing it. UK-based artists Sian Emmison and Tom Morris founded Bobbin Bicycles
last year to give cyclists a boutique shopping experience beyond the
realm of clothing.
While the duo also sell bike-related accessories at
their recently opened store in London, they primarily focus on the Dutch-inspired Bobbin cycles that are flying out the doors and down the bike lane. The design is so buzz-worthy that many would-be buyers make an appointment for a test ride before purchasing.
Emmison and Morris were inspired by the cycling culture in cities such as
Amsterdam and Copenhagen, and decided to bring that passion back home to
London. Each Bobbin bike has its own personality and customers are equally diverse, spanning across the whole spectrum of cyclists—from artists to businessmen. Even sweat-phobes can rest assured: the unique upright style of Bobbin bikes prevents the unpleasant exertion of their two-wheeled brethren.
As gas prices rise and environmental worries increase, the biking
trend is rapidly taking off. And, with the help of Bobbin, cycling has
become both a fashion statement and a conscientious consumer choice.
