"Many jewelry designers are transcending the industrial production of
jewelry with innovative computer-assisted design technology. I’m
beginning to explore my options with the CAD system, an excellent
solution for goldsmiths who want to present a pristine 3-D model of
their jewelry before items go into production. Many designers worry
that computer programs negate the hands-on creative process, but I
believe it provides metal artists with a more efficient way to
manipulate form and shape with each fashion season. This season I’m
working on 80s-inspired, navel-length, heavy black chains, adorned with
large vintage pendants. Other pieces in the collection include bold
geometric shapes in bright purples and pinks, equestrian inspired
pieces, horse-bit jewelry, modish black and white graphics, large
button earrings, and gold chains embellished with feathers, exotic
animal skins, and of course, the occasional skull. It’s the irreverent
lady look I like to call ‘rock n’ roll granny.’"
