Dan Flavin’s light installation, Richard Serra, The Cooper Union building, Urs Fischer at the New Museum, the Boom Boom Room at The Standard (soon to be QT), Sugarland in Brooklyn, Marlow and Sons oysters, The Last Magazine, Carey Mulligan, Demi Moore always and forever, Philip Crangi’s store in the meatpacking district, La Roux.
Best look of the season:
Personally, I love Victor Glemaud’s easy and chic cardigans, and Antonio Azzuolo’s structured blazers. I am always drawn to high tops and anything that is not too body conscious.
Must have season staple:
The Prabal Garung black punctured patent leather biker jacket.
A true globe-trotter through and through, Prabal Garung combines an internationally trained eye with universal appeal. Born in Singapore, raised in Nepal and trained in London, Melbourne and New York — by luminaries from Manish Arora and Donna Karan — this acclaimed upstart worked for Cynthia Rowley’s design team and served as design director for Bill Blass before launching his own namesake collection. Marrying old world technique with cutting edge modern architecturalism, Garung is one designer we plan to keep tabs on.
