It's no small feat to train the eye anywhere but on the colorful dresses at a Tsumori Chisato show. In the designer's presentation earlier this week, however, it was Chisato's debut line of hosiery that had editors and buyers atwitter.

The stockings had a variety of motifs, including diamond shapes, flowers and a most fetching gradient pattern that fades from beige or navy to cream. No matter what the style, they served as the perfect complement to Chisato's signature swingy silk and satin dresses, with the look finished off in patent pumps.

We went backstage to find out more about the hosiery from Tsumori's stylist, John Hullum. The details? Yes, the stockings will be produced, appearing in stores for fall. As to which outlets, those have yet to be determined. Our advice: make sure that your local Tsumori Chisato purveyor goes deep in these stockings—they create a world all their own.
