Too Cool for School
August 15th, 2008 | New York
Sean John veterans Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne launched their rebel-themed label, Public School, to the beat of Pink Floyd's "Another
Brick in the Wall" rather than to their former boss's hip-hop stylings.
The designers draw inspiration from their days spent in the New York public school system as well as from the dingy delights of the city street.Chow and Maxwell's collections consist of fittingly nonconformist pieces. So, even if you were more of a band geek than a bully, Public School offers a sophisticated twist on adolescent attitude, while leaving the awkward teenage memories in the past. The autumn/winter '08 selection features bad ass clothes like bomber jackets, graphic tees, breakaway pants, button-down hoodies and embroidered leather jackets—proving, once again, that being bad always looks good.
