What's hot right now:
These days it's important that all your purchases be worth your time and money. Everything should be meaningful to you, high quality and well-made. Everything in between seems unnecessary.
Collections. I enjoy items by groups, it seems to make them so much stronger. Currently, we are collecting wind-up clocks, kaleidoscopes and snow globes for our daughter. It's pretty interesting what you find on these random eBay searches and flea market ventures.
Next on our list, well-made luxury items. We always seek out brands that take pride in creating high-quality items. I feel it really tells you a lot about the person/people behind the company and what they stand for. We try to use such brands as models for Obedient Sons & Daughters. A few we love and live by are Hermès, of course, such beautiful products and amazing quality.
Globe-Trotter luggage is another company we have fallen for—they make exquisite handmade luggage. We would absolutely love to have a full set one day. One piece just doesn't seem sufficient.
A third company we have just started collecting from is Astier de Villatte. They make amazing handmade pottery in Paris. The store is also quite spectacular with little surprises in every nook and cranny. We have yet to collect their dishes but have a few vases and a set of wine glasses that have become my new favorites.
Our home is becoming one big yard sale, but thats what makes it so lovely. We are definitely not minimalists to say the least.
